AccessAbility Services’ Academic Skill-Building Program is a 4-week self-guided program designed for first-year students registered with AccessAbility Services or students newly registered with our office. You will explore learning strategy supports and resources developed to promote greater self-awareness for how you learn and provide the opportunity for academic success. Please do not register for more than 1 program start date. Participants will receive a meeting link through Microsoft Teams prior to the session. Registration is limited to students registered with AccessAbility Services.
Learning Objectives:
- Learn how to access the services and supports available through AccessAbility Services
- Explore best practices for engagement in a blended learning environment
- Identify strategies to improve focus, productivity and balance your schedule
- Engage in effective communication with your peers and instructors
- Use strategies to capture course content, with effect
- Explore study strategies and assistive technology that promote active learning
- Understand the modalities of online and in-person methods of evaluation
- Develop skills to support goal-setting and personal wellness
Join us LIVE for the 2-part guided virtual group sessions led by our Learning Strategist the week prior to the start of each term.Part 1 is a review and in-depth discussion of the Week 1 and 2 Module resources. Part 2 is a review and in-depth discussion of the Week 3 and 4 Module resources. Select your preferred start date below to register for part 1 of the guided sessions. Please do not register for more than one start date below. Once you have registered for part 1, you will be automatically enrolled in part 2 of the guided sessions.
