Apply for the Black Graduate Student EDI-R Award

Applications open until January 15, 2026

Scholarships valued at $5,000 each will be awarded each term to graduate students registered full time or part time in a doctoral program in any department or faculty at the University of Waterloo. Interested students must identify as Black and must have obtained a minimum cumulative average of 75% or equivalent in their current or most recently completed program. For more information, including additional award eligibility requirements, please navigate here. 

Applicants will be notified of the Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Racism’s decision.

Deadlines

Fall term: September 15
Winter term: January 15
Spring term: May 15

To be eligible to apply for this award, you are asked to disclose that you self-identify as Black
