(1925) - The Need for Women's Unions - Milly Witkop-Rocker

In her 1925 work, The Need for Women's Unions, Witkop-Rocker addresses the problem of male comrades opposing women’s unions, which were essential for addressing women's needs, particularly those of housewives and non-producers. Rocker argued that the women’s unions were necessary for empowering women to take initiative and contribute to the broader movement, despite the limited success they had so far. They emphasized the importance of supporting women’s unions through economic and cultural education, advocating for the creation of consumer leagues to financially empower these unions and make them independent.

Let’s treat women’s unions not as something trivial, but as a part of the general movement. It would be ridiculous to think that a movement with such goals as the syndicalist movement’s could ever reach those without the practical help of the women.
