Community Resources
The Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Anti-Racism (EDI-R) offers community resources to help turn meaningful ideas into action. As part of our anti-racism commitments, we focus on empowering communities that create the conditions for people to lead, create, and shape the spaces they belong to.
Whether you’re launching a project, hosting an event, amplifying community voices, or exploring collaboration, we’re here to support work that strengthens belonging, equity, and collective care across campus and the region.
Funding
Small funding. Big impact.
The Community Microgrants provide up to $1,500 per project (with $5,000 available each term) to support community-led initiatives such as cultural celebrations, creative workshops, peer support groups, well-being events, and more.
Promotions
Share your work. Grow your reach.
If you’re hosting a community-centered event or initiative, we can share it through EDI-R’s communication channels and networks. Promotion support can help you reach the right communities and strengthen engagement.
Podcasting
Record. Tell your story.
Take the Mic initiative offers access to podcasting equipment and media tools for community-led storytelling, interviews, and creative expression. Perfect for exploring important conversations, storytelling, or grassroots content creation.
Space
Gather. Build your community.
The Office of EDI-R have welcoming on-campus spaces to support community-focused events, meetings, and gatherings. We have a meeting space suitable for groups of up to 20 people, a gathering area that can accommodate approximately 30 people, and a smaller meeting room ideal for groups of up to 6 people.
Partnership
Connect. Let's collaborate.
Community Corners is where campus and community meet. It’s designed to bridge on-campus groups with the broader Waterloo region and beyond. We support students, staff, and faculty who are involved in local community work and want to deepen their connections, access resources, or explore new opportunities together.
