(1963) - Appeal made on occasion of the Algerian-Moroccan conflict - Mehdi Ben Barka

Mehdi Ben Barka, amongst his many roles of being a politician, was a spokesperson of the National Union of Popular Forces (UNFP). This following report goes through Ben Barka's addresses the Moroccans, particularly focusing on the relationship between the Moroccans and Algerians. Ben Barka states that the Moroccans will not bear arms against the Algerians, irrespective of what the government system may aim to dictate. He further goes on to explain the effects of neocolonialism and its impact on the people through imperialism. He calls for unity of the militant revolutionary Arabs and peoples of Africa and Asia, so that they can come together against the colonial systems and bring back the legacy of the Great Maghreb.

We are certain that thanks to this solidarity of the peoples and that thanks to this faith in our common destiny, we will overcome this momentary crisis and liquidate the sequels of imperialism, extirpating its last roots from our beloved and great United Maghreb.
