(1963) - Speech at the 1963 March on Washington - Asa (A.) Philip Randolph

Many prominent civil rights activists were present at the March on Washington (1963) protest, advocating for foundational rights for Black Americans. One of them being Randolph, who delivered this speech to the masses. Randolph goes on in his speech to advocate for every American who is struggling, irrespective of race. He mentions opening up public accommodations, access to federal aid, a proper democratic society, among many other relevant issues. The fight for freedom has been longstanding and will continue forth.

But this civil rights revolution is not confined to the Negro, nor is it confined to civil rights for our white allies know that they cannot be free while we are not.

Asa (A.) Philip Randolph
