(1994) - Arrow at Rest - Fatima Ahmed Ibrahim
Ibrahim goes over her life and upbringing shaped by the culture of Sudan at that time. She goes over being exposed to politics from a young age through her parents, even though they weren't directly involved in politics themselves. Her journey of feminism started from a young age, when she witnessed and experienced the different expectations between her and her brothers when doing chores. Through all of this though, her mother supported her, particularly when it came to gaining higher education. Through life experiences and life in Sudan, Ibrahim gradually became more involved in politics and social influences, becoming the president of the Sudanese Women's Union (SWU). She made attempts at political reform through running for office, and being selected as the only woman elected to a parliament comprised fully of men. Ibrahim talks about her experiences which led to her eventually being exiled, yet her desire for reform remained.
