(2009) - The Coming of Revolution - League of Revolutionary Black Workers (Detroit)

The author, Eric Perkins, goes through the battles in which the League of Revolutionary Black Workers (Detroit) went through, and how they were able to form themselves as a formidable bloc against their oppressors. The Twentieth Century brought about a different set of struggles, shifting from capital versus labour, to rich versus poor nations. This came down particularly hard on Black labour in comparison to white labour. This is because, given the shift of the Northern American industry coming down to the South, where historically many Black Americans lived, it shifted the availability of the quality of jobs, particularly in the skilled trades. As a result, Black Americans were pushed to accept menial jobs with no chances of growth. Hence, the League's primary aim was revolutionary nationalism, whilst ridding themselves of the "bonds of white racist control", and to relieve oppression of people all over the world.

The central theoretical concern of the League is the inevitable recognition of the black working class as the vanguard of the social revolution.
