BLAXPO is a multi-touchpoint conference highlighting Black talent currently in the Canadian job market to connect them with progressive companies that embody an equitable and diverse spirit. On top of the career expo, BLAXPO offers many different activations such as speed networking sessions, networking lounges, workshops, live podcasts, professional headshots and mental health sessions to give professionals, entrepreneurs and students alike a holistic approach to advancing their personal and professional life.BLAXPO 2022 united over 900 BIPOC professionals who networked and built connections in a space made for us by us. A safe space where you can feel seen, heard and wanted. 8:00AM: Coach bus departure from the Commissary Building, University of Waterloo, 200 University Avenue W., Waterloo

10:00AM - 5:00PM: BLAXPO Conference at the Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel, 1 Blue Jays Way, Toronto

5:30PM: Coach departure from the Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel, 1 Blue Jays Way, Toronto

7:00PM: Coach arrives at the Commissary Building, University of Waterloo, 200 University Avenue W., Waterloo

Lunch: SUBWAY to GO Meal Lunch and transportation refreshments.

Dress Code: Conference organizers encourage students to dress in whatever fashion feels appropriate to them. Please consider attire that would make you feel comfortable and excited to participate in conference activities, such as professional headshots. 

Communication: Once registered with the ARU, you will receive additional information from the BLAXPO organizers, Four Brown Girls (FBG), including information on selecting conference workshops. You will also receive additional reminders from the Anti-racism Unit. Students who attend the conference will also have to complete a short Anti-racism Unit post-conference evaluation.
