Wen-Do focuses on women's safety and empowerment, preparing participants to defend themselves both mentally and physically, and giving women the confidence to deal with the range of types of aggression they are most likely to encounter in real life. The techniques we teach are practical and easy to learn, and the learning environment is safe, supportive, and full of positive energy.
This one-hour workshop will be a taster session of the full 2 hour workshop that will be provided in the evening. We will do an overview of women's self-defence through a feminist, anti-oppression analysis.
This workshop is open to women identified and non-binary students, staff, and faculty of all abilities.
Wen-Do is a registered charity and the oldest self-defence organization in Canada taught by women, for women.
