CVIS 2024 - 10th Annual Conference on Vision and Intelligent Systems

We're rolling out the red carpet for the 2025 GRADflix showcase!
You're invited to join Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs for a viewing of finalist GRADflix submissions before the winners are announced. Prizes include 1st-4th place with prizes ranging from $250-$750 and a finalist's choice award valued at $250.

Treaty Girl exhibit at Longhouse Labs

Created by Courtney Skye (Mohawk Nation, Turtle Clan) and curated by Alex Jacobs-Blum (Cayuga Nation, Wolf Clan), Treaty Girl aims to make visible the many generations of girls who are embodying Treaty, survival, and joy.

As part of the Water Institute's WaterTalks lecture series, Dr. Jackie MacDonald Gibson, Department Head and Professor, Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering, NC State University, Raleigh, NC, US, will present: Mapping and quantifying health effects of inequities in community water service in North Carolina, USA.

This event is in person in DC 1302 with a networking reception to follow in DC 1301 (The Fishbowl).

Spooktacular STEM Night Drop-in Event

Get ready for a frightfully fun evening of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)!

On October 31st, Engineering Outreach invites curious minds in Grade K-6 and their families to our Spooktacular STEM Night Drop-in Event, where creepy creativity, eery engineering, and spooky science collide!

Each registered child will receive a halloween treat after completing their Monster Maker's STEM pass. The pass is complete after engaging in hands-on activities at each STEM station and working through the engineering design cycle!

We can’t wait for a night filled with candy, fun and spooktacular costumes! Halloween costumes or a black and orange outfit are not required but are welcome.

Talking to Children about Consent

Talking to Young Children (age 0-6) about Consent. This virtual session will discuss and answer questions about the importance of talking to young children about consent, setting boundaries, and using the proper names for body parts to help build a culture of respect and consent.
