Cree Tylee is an interdisciplinary artist exploring themes of presence and absence investigated through the family archive. "In any way I can" explores the home as a site of memory, investigating loss and identity through material and spatial remembering. Drawing from a personal family archive, the work considers absence and presence, constructing a material dialogue between ‘then’ and ‘now’.

This retrospective exhibit orbits themes of disability, abuse, suffering, belief, unbelief, destruction, and regeneration. It features over 50 pieces of art made by Elizabeth Ann Wenger (1946-2022), a Mennonite artist who lived and worked in Goshen, Indiana.

The exhibit is curated by Carol Penner, Director of Theological Studies at Conrad Grebel University College, and Sadie Ingle, a current Masters of Theological Studies student. It can be found in the Grebel Gallery, level 4, Conrad Grebel University College. This free exhibit will run from Tuesday, April 1 to Tuesday, June 17.

Coming up April 14–16, DigFemNet is hosting its first-ever Summit at the University of Waterloo ONLINE—and you’re invited to be part of it. The summit features several public sessions, including the Early Career Scholar Show & Shares, a Keynote by Dr. Radhika Gajjala from Bowling Green State University, and workshops that range from silkscreening protest media to making zines to learning about data collection and management.

Cherished Belonging: The Healing Power of Love in Divided Times With Homeboy Industries as a backdrop, this talk will explore the power of love to transform the disunity that currently keeps us from each other. Loving is our home and knowing that, is to never be homesick again.

Celebrate International Poetry Month in community, engaged in a relaxed practice of storying. Join Shelly Grace, Toronto-based spoken word poet, for a session on practices of free story-writing, story-telling, and story-listening. Participants will practice free-writing and listening-to-listen, not respond. Giana Tomas, a PhD Candidate in Recreation and Leisure Studies, will open our session with a description of the Filipin* talk-story method of Kuwentuhan to welcome and invite different cultural textures to our discussion of storying practices.
