The Peace and Conflict Studies is hosting a movie night on March 1st, 2024. Peace by Chocolate is an award-winning film that focuses on a Syrian refugee family, as they adapt to a new life in Nova Scotia, Canada, while rebuilding their family chocolate business.

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming annual MacKinnon Dinner on March 15th, 2024, at 6:00 pm. This event, steeped in tradition, is an unforgettable experience for all attendees and is a time to come together to honour one of the department's most influential figures, esteemed professor, Father Hugh MacKinnon, and celebrate the wider University of Waterloo History community.

 Eléa Thuiliera, a PhD student at the university of Galway (Ireland), will be presenting a guest lecture on February 29th. Eléa's research aims to design active games (exergames) to increase engagement while improving physical health, and fitting to a population at risk of fall and fracture. 

On January 26, Brock Hart, co-founder of Overlap, will share compelling stories and insights from Overlap's 12-year history. In "Designing Hope," Brock will unveil the art of complex problem-solving through the lens of design-based methods.

Grade 10 students thinking about university are invited (along with their supporters) to an information session on admission requirements, financing their education, and advice on how to get started preparing for university. Join us online or on campus.

Caleb is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Biology here at the University of Waterloo. Caleb’s research focuses on the social behaviour of bats, specifically how individuality and individual differences between group-living bats drives and maintains their social organization.
