World Fuel Cell Conference (WFCC) is established under the auspice of the International Association for Hydrogen Energy (IAHE) as an umbrella organization to lead and coordinate the information dissemination related to hydrogen and fuel cell R&D activities, development, advancement and education. The conference is organized by IAHE Fuel Cell Division, hosted by the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) and the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (CHFCA).

The University of Waterloo Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute is proud to host its Annual Conference on Thursday October 10, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, at Federation Hall on the University of Waterloo Campus.

This event centres on our theme, “TACKLING CANADA’S CYBERSECURITY CHALLENGES", which will highlight current and future efforts within the cybersecurity and privacy sphere, with keynote speakers, panel discussions, and industry talks. XChanges 2024 is committed to dismantling oppressive systemic barriers within BIPOC spaces and weaving together the experiences and ideologies of racialized health care physicians. By highlighting the insufficient support received by BIPOC communities, our aim is to significantly impact students’ mental health, and prioritize their well-being. By including the nine dimensions of wellness for racialized students to learn and understand mental health, we are on a mission to foster a community that embraces the mind, creating an environment where students feel empowered to seek and receive the support they need comfortably.

The annual Academic Career Conference, hosted by the Centre for Career Development, provides workshops, lightning talks and discussion panels to help graduate students and Postdocs prepare for an academic career. This year, the Academic Career Conference will focus on the theme “Inclusion in academic contexts: showing up as you in academia”. Join us to discuss how gender, cultural, religious and disability identities are integrated (or not) in the academic environment to foster a more inclusive space where everyone can  show up as themselves.

The Canadian Youth STEM Conference (CYSC) is aimed at students in Grades 9-12 across Canada who want to fuel their passion in the field. Hosted at the University of Waterloo and streamed nation-wide in partnership with Shad Canada, the program features insightful talks delivered by leading experts on emerging technology, an innovation challenge, and opportunities to form new connections.

Institutions of higher learning are environments where new ideas, visions, and discoveries are cultivated. These pursuits are enriched through diversity of thought and perspective in an environment where we strive for a spirit of pluralism.

Unfortunately, universities can be the target for attacks by those who may feel threatened by this important work. The conference responds to this challenge and contribute to discussions on academic freedom and the principles of freedom of expression.

Join us on campus on April 4th for a full-day symposium: an interdisciplinary event where a variety of people and organizations across the private and public sectors will come together to discuss and learn about the opportunities and challenges provided by robotics over the coming 5-10 years.
