Our FATSlab years of collaboration with Multimatic Inc., CanmetMATERIALS, and Ford Motor Company-Research & Innovation Center (RIC) on design and manufacturing of an ultra-lightweight automotive suspension arm made of magnesium alloy was recognized as this year’s winner of International Magnesium Association Excellence Award in wrought alloys category.

Dr. Hamid Jahed, Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering, is one of three professors in Waterloo Engineering who have been awarded a total of almost $1.9 million in funding to collaborate with Canadian-based companies and government organizations on strategic research projects. 

During his visit to Waterloo region last Friday, Premier Doug Ford came to campus to see Professor Michael Worswick’s Waterloo Forming and Crash Lab and experience first hand one of the largest academic laboratories for such research.

FATSLAB member Amir Pahlevanpour recently had his paper "Characterization of Anisotropic Behaviour of ZK60 Extrusion under Stress-control Condition and Notes on Fatigue Modeling" published in the International Journal of Fatigue. Congratulations Amir!
