GET-FACTS member Dr. Edmond Chan (UBC) reflects on the need for better communication with the public about the timing of introducing peanuts to infants. While previous guidelines had told parents to hold off until after 1 year of age, significant movement in the science has led many experts to conclude that introduction should be timed much earlier in life.

After a recent incident in which a Quebec man went into anaphylactic shock and had to be hospitalized from eating at a restaurant, Susan Elliott speaks to CBC Radio and The Globe and Mail about the need for food allergy knowledge translation in Canada.

GET-FACTS funded student Steve Wilcox will be defending his PhD March 30th, 2016 with the University of Waterloo's department of English.

GET-FACTS scientist Christine McCusker's RI-MUHC discovery has been named by Québec Science magazine is one of the top 10 discoveries of 2015.

On October 22nd 2015, Susan Elliott presented at the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology 70th Annual Scientific Meeting in Vancouver on Integrated Knowledge Translation, with GET-FACTS as the primary empirical example.

Professor Susan Elliott, along with two PhD candidates, Stephen Wilcox and Ryan Clement from UWaterloo's Department of English, attended the annual Anaphylaxis Canada conference in Toronto, Ontario. The conference, titled "Unlocking the mysteries of food allergy: what can we learn from the research?" allowed Ryan and Stephen to pilot their food allergy games (created thanks to GET-FACTS) with an audience very familiar with the topic.

Jenna Dixon presented on the GET-FACTS Knowledge Translation study at the international conference Annual Meeting for the Association of American Geographers in Chicago, Illinois.

Findings were well received and generated interest from audience members as to the potential application of the GET-FACTS KT model in other research studies.
