Marco is a PhD student in Systems Design Engineering under the supervision of Professors Mark Hancock and Oliver Schneider at University of Waterloo. Previously, he completed a B.S. in Mechatronics Engineering (2015) at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in Mexico, a postgraduate diploma in Automation and Robotics (2017) at Centennial College in Toronto, and an MASc in Systems Design Engineering at Waterloo. In his research, Marco explores the use of 3D physical props for better interaction in virtual reality: "Imagine you could chop a virtual object with a 3D-printed knife, or imagine you could touch and feel the texture of an artifact in a virtual museum. With my research, I hope to take interaction in VR to a new level."
