Tor-Salve Dalsgaard

Alumni (Visiting Graduate Student)

Tor-Salve (he/him) is interested in the experiences humans have when interacting with technology. As a PhD student, he studied haptic experiences through the lens of neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy -- and a little chemistry. Tor-Salve remains excited about all sorts of sensory input and what humans make of them.

Nicole Dillen

Alumni (MMath)

Co-supervised by Professors Krzysztof Czarnecki and Oliver Schneider, Nicolepursued her masters in Computer Science with a research focus on passenger-vehicle interaction in the context of autonomous vehicles.

Diana Khater

Alumni (Undergraduate Researcher)

Diana is interested in applications of haptics in medicine. She is a BSc graduate in Biology at the University of Waterloo. Her research focuses on hand receptors involved in the haptic experience. She hopes to build online simulations to help designers better design haptic products.

Erin Kim

Alumni (Undergraduate researcher)

Erin is currently completing her BA in Honours Psychology at the University of Waterloo. Her research within the lab focuses on exploring user interactions with haptic technology to identify and define the factors that create a positive Haptic Experience (HX).

Punit Kunjam

Alumni (CS MMath)

Punit was an MMath student in Computer Science with a strong background in game development and simulation. His passion lies in harnessing the power of AR/VR technologies to craft innovative immersive systems aimed at improving the lives of individuals with disabilities. Additionally, his commitment extends to the realm of healthcare where he's interested in the development of simulation-based surgical training systems that leverage robotics and mixed-reality technologies.

Tanay Singhal

Alumni (Undergraduate researcher)

Tanay (he/him) is a fourth year computer science student at the University of Waterloo. His interest lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction and Machine Learning. He is currently researching computer-generated designs for haptics.

Ludwig Wall

Alumni (PhD)

Ludwig Wilhelm Wall (BA and MA in IT-Systems Engineering) completed his PhD in Computer Science supervised by Daniel Vogel and Oliver Schneider in 2025. He is interested in the application of haptic sensations in Virtual Reality (VR) environments, and what influence Fabrication methods can have on the ephemeral nature of games.
