Alison Scott awarded the J. Alan George Leadership Award

We are pleased to announce that Alison Scott, a member of the IPR, was recently award the 2015 J. Alan George Leadership Award.

 In addition to her academic success Alison is extremely passionate about engineering outreach and education, and has been very involved with the Engineering Outreach Department. She was previously the coordinator of ESQ’s Girls Club program, which is aimed to engage elementary school students in Science and Engineering. She is also a supporter of Women in Engineering, and has assisted with annual outreach programs including the Codemakers Conference, the Catalyst Grade 11 Girls Conference, Go ENG Girl and Girl Guides Badge Day.

Throughout her studies, Alison has made every effort to maintain a work/life balance. Off campus, she has played French horn in several ensembles and has acted as a piano accompanist for community theatres and church events. She is also a dedicated volunteer with the children’s programs at First Baptist Church in Waterloo.
