John Munoz attened the IEEE AIVR conference where he presented our proposed framework on kinematic adaptation for exergames. John had a great experience connecting with and learning from others about how AI and VR can be leverated to design better and more effective games for older adults.
ITWIL was pleased to host Paul Thompson (Assistant Deputy Minister at Innovation, Science and Economic Development of Canada) and colleagues during their visit to UWaterloo to learn more about research and commercialisation being done in the health and technology sector.

A big and well-deserved congratulations to our labmates John Muñoz and Sheida Marashi! Both are recipients of the prestigious, nationally-competitive AGE-WELL Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Award in Technology and Aging!
Our "Zero-Effort Technologies: Considerations, Challenges, and Use in Health, Wellness, and Rehabilitation" monograph was used to shape the National Science & Technology Council's "Emerging Technologies to Support an Aging Population" report. Excited to see the concept generating real-world impact!
