Funding your Graduate International Experience
International education has a significant impact on our campus community and Canadian social, economic and cultural well-being.
At this graduate student info session, you will learn about various awards to fund your international experiences, whether you are traveling internationally for a conference, academic exchange, research, internship or volunteer experience. A panel of current graduate students will share their experience of receiving funding to support their international travel. Panelists will teach you about the benefits of international travel, and will share tips for planning and applying for funding.
Additional Information: Registration is required and a light lunch will be provided.
Panelists:
- Justine Salam, PhD student, Global Governance - Justine received a Graduate Student International Experience Award to volunteer as a teacher with the WINS Foundation in Indonesia.
- Faiza Omar, PhD student, Geography and Environmental Management - Faiza received a Graduate Student International Experience Award to travel to rural Ghana and collect primary data through surveys and interviews.
- Nathan Braniff, PhD student, Applied Mathematics - Nathan received a Graduate Studies Research Travel Assistantship to present at a conference in New York City.
