Call for NII International Internship Program

Applications for the NII International Internship Program is open. The program is open to Research Master's and PhD students, with the aim at giving students the opportunity for professional and personal development by engaging in research activities under the guidance and supervision of NII researchers. Awarded students will be funded 5,700 JPY per day as sojourn expenses will be covered by NII while students are staying at NII.

Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships

The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) is now open. QES offers a unique chance for students to pursue a two-year Master's degree in a low or middle-income Commonwealth nation. Aimed at fostering community-driven change, the scholarships provide an enriching cultural experience, expand global perspectives, and facilitate lifelong networking. Scholars contribute to positive transformations both in their home countries and their host nations, actively shaping the Commonwealth's future.

Applications open twice a year: in November/December and March/April. The scholarship covers tuition fees, living expenses, travel expenses, and research support grants upon request and approval.

Visiting Professor of Canadian Studies at Kwansei Gakuin University 

Kwansei Gakuin University seeks a Visiting Professor of Canadian Studies for a four-month appointment in Spring (April 1, 2025 – July 31, 2025) or Fall (September 20, 2025 – January 19, 2025). Responsibilities include teaching two weekly courses on contemporary Canada, contributing to university-wide Canadian Studies courses, seminars, faculty lectures, advising students, and engaging in Canadian Studies research in Japan. Priority is given to Canadian citizens or landed immigrants with teaching positions or emeritus status at Canadian universities or those recommended by KGU faculty. Remuneration is ¥670,000 monthly. Shastri Membership Development Fund

SICI's Canada Office is pleased to announce the SICI Membership Development Fund (SMDF) of up to CAN$500, aiming to publicize and promote SICI's mandates, benefits, programs, and grants among its Canadian Members Council (CMC) Institutions is now open.

The SMDF grant can be used for events promoting SICI opportunities and India-Canada activities, including public events showcasing India-Canada accomplishments, where SICI's actions play an integral role. In this program, Executive Council members who are CMC representatives are eligible to apply, and ten grants will be awarded.

Mitacs: Globalink Research Award

The Mitacs Globalink Research Award (GRA) is currently accepting applications. This award aims to foster research partnerships between Canada and designated partner organizations in eligible countries and regions.

Qualified senior undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows who are selected for this opportunity will have the privilege of working on a 12- to 24-week research project under the joint guidance of both a home and host professor. As a recognition of their research efforts, recipients will be granted a $6,000 research award. These awards are made possible through collaboration with Mitacs's Canadian academic partners and are dependent on the availability of funding.

Mitacs: Globalink Research Internship

The Mitacs Globalink Research Internship (GRI) is open for applications, offering international undergraduates a competitive 12-week research opportunity at Canadian academic institutions from May to October annually. Participants work alongside faculty members across various disciplines, from science and engineering to humanities and social sciences. The internship provides hands-on research experience, exposure to Canada's research landscape, and opportunities for professional development and social engagement. The GRI offers an opportunity for participants to gain international experiences and new skills. Globalink Research Internship alumni interested in returning to Canada for graduate studies are also eligible for the Globalink Graduate Fellowship.​ Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
