Event for MPS students and alumni in Ottawa - Created and organized by alumnus Keith Chau (Class of 2013), this complimentary event features a relaxing evening of dinner and drinks at The 3 Brewers pub on 240 Sparks Street in Ottawa. The fun starts at 6:30 p.m.

Meet your Program Director, Professor Daniel Henstra; Co-operative Education's Arts Faculty Relations Manager, Scott Davis; MPS Liaison Librarian at the Dana Porter Library, Jane Forgay; and senior MPS students. And you get a lunch too! We're looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces. In the meantime, enjoy your summer. 

Organized by Lee Chandler, MPSA Director of Social Affairs, the MPS Welcome Social is a great opportunity to mingle with your colleagues, meet fellow MPSers, and enjoy some casual food and drinks before the semester gets underway. Workshop for new MPS students - Facilitated by OnTheThreshold Consulting's Leadership Executive Team Coach, John Doan, this workshop focuses on emotional intelligent communication for teaming with others. 

Workshop for new MPS students - Facilitated by Elisabeth Adrian, Career Advisor in Waterloo’s Centre for Career Action, this workshop teaches you key strategies to increase your prospects for career success. The workshop will be followed by a complimentary lunch in the MPS Project Room. 

Discussion Panel for new MPS students - Meet three MPSers who are working in municipal government. You'll hear from Tracy Suerich, the Program Coordinator for City of Waterloo's Waterloo Public Square; Jeff Bunn, the Committee Coordinator for the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury's Legislative Services; and Rajbir Sian, Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Waterloo. All three are looking forward to telling you what it's like, what they do, and how to be competitive for municipal positions.

Election for new MPS students - Facilitated by Jeff Bunn, outgoing President of the Master of Public Service Association, this election will feature a lively competition for our 2013-2014 association executives. 

Talk for current MPS students - As part of the Open Government Initiative, the City of Kitchener aims to increase public participation and accountability in municipal politics and activities. Dan Chapman, Deputy Chief Administrative Officer of Financial and Corporate Services, will give a 30-45 minute presentation on the initiative followed by a Q&A session about city politics, working in government and career options.
