Starting May 6, 2026, after 9:00 a.m., access to MATLAB and MathWorks will use the University of Waterloo login system instead of a separate MathWorks sign‑in.
This change makes signing in easier and more secure by allowing you to use your UW WatIAM credentials.
What to expect
The next time you sign in to MATLAB or MathWorks:
- Enter your @uwaterloo.ca email address
- You will be redirected to a UW login page.
- Sign in using your <8‑character‑userid>@uwaterloo.ca and WatIAM password.
Using a different MathWorks email?
If your MathWorks account was created using a different email address (for example, a friendly username), MathWorks support can help merge your accounts and data so everything is connected to your UW login.
