Qualtrics Platform Updates
Starting June 3, 2026, all new Qualtrics surveys will default to the New Survey Taking Experience (NSTE), which brings a modernized interface but may require updates to custom CSS, JavaScript, or automated API workflows. On June 30, 2026, the Research Core Contacts API and select XM Directory endpoints — including Contact Frequency Rules, Samples, Segment Memberships, and Transactions — will be permanently deprecated. Users who rely on these features should review Qualtrics' migration guides and update their integrations ahead of the deadlines.
MATLAB and MathWorks will now use UW login
Starting on May 6, 2026, after 9:00 a.m., authentication for MATLAB and MathWorks will transition to the University of Waterloo sig in. This update improves security, simplifies login, and provides a more integrated experience using University of Waterloo credentials.
Data storage exception extended - M365 data storage quota changes
IST has extended the temporary exception to email and OneDrive storage limits for employees with A5 licences. This extension allows continued access beyond the original May 1, 2026 timeline while alternative storage solutions are finalized. Employees are encouraged to continue reviewing and reducing their current data storage usage.
