Starting with a critical look at how Open Educational Resources (OERs) can open doors to college affordability and student success, Robin and Rajiv will expand the conversation to move beyond cost-savings into a broader focus on access and equity. They will give examples of teaching practices that center learner agency and voice, catalyze the open sharing of knowledge, and demonstrate the value of higher education to students, faculty, and the wider community. Robin and Rajiv will explore how Open Education can shape a hopeful and humane vision for the future of higher education.
eCampusOntario is hosting a series of workshops and a webinar on tools to help facilitate the easy creation and adaptation of open educational resources. Check out the events below to learn more and sign-up.
Hosted by Open Education Global (OEG), Open Education Week is an annual, week-long event that aims to raise awareness, showcase initiatives and highlight open education efforts in teaching and learning worldwide. Launched in 2012, Open Education Week provides instructors, practitioners and students with an opportunity to gain an understanding of open educational practices (OEP) and be inspired by the wealth of open educational resources (OER) being developed by the local and global communities.
Learn how to search for and ethically use open educational resources in your course materials. This introductory workshop covers copyright, licensing, sourcing, and selection of OERs. Join us for this interactive session Wednesday, June 29, 2021, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. in Teams.
