Open Data is data that can be freely used, shared, and built-on by anyone, anywhere, for any purpose.
Where can I find open data?
University data
- The University of Waterloo's Open Data Initiative, hosted by Information Systems & Technology, maintains the Open Data API and more than 80 open datasets.
- The University of Waterloo Dataverse is a platform for the management and sharing of research data, and can be used to make your research data openly available and discoverable.
Open data portals
- Government of Canada Open Data
- Ontario Open Data
- Region of Waterloo Open Data: contains data from Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo municipalities, as well as region-wide datasets
