Executive council role descriptions

The UWOSS council is involved in organizing meetings, managing communications and ensuring smooth procedures. Council elections run at the end of first year, and the winners become elects in second year. Elects are trained by their Executive. The elects become the executives in their 3^rd year. The council is made up of one 2^nd year elect for each position and one 3^rd year executive for each position.

Council Position	Role Description
President	In charge of representing the Society in University/School of Optometry administration and Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association affairs, calling and chairing monthly Council meetings.
Vice-President Internal	Assists the President with their duties. The Vice President will coordinate and assist the committees (Sports, Social etc.) in planning and organizing annual events.
VP Communications of Society	Responsible for maintaining accurate records for the minutes of Council and Society meetings and managing social media accounts and society website.
VP Finance of Society	Responsible for maintaining accurate records of Society finance and overseeing budgets for all committees.
VP Sponsorship	Responsible for securing and maintaining industry sponsorship for all UWOSS events.
Chief Returning Officer	2^nd Year student who conducts all society elections and polls. No corresponding Elect Position.

Class representative role descriptions

UWOSS class representatives handle advocacy and organization for class-specific matters, except event organization, which is open to all students. Students are elected at the start of their first year and continue their position for their respective term length.

Student relations representatives	Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of student-run spaces. They are also in charge of planning mental health initiatives within the optometry school and in accordance with the Thrive events on main campus.	1	4
