The TESOL Certificate is delivered through a series of stackable micro-credential courses that progressively build your skills, competence and confidence in English language teaching. The program begins with four sequential micro-credential courses, each four weeks in length, which together provide 100 instructional hours of comprehensive TESOL training.
Once all four courses are completed, you may choose to complete an additional optional micro-credential that supports a 20-hour supervised practicum. The 20-hour practicum, combined with the 100 instructional hours of coursework, meets the practicum and instructional hour requirements for TESL Canada professional certification for which you may apply should you meet the certification requirements (see below).
From application to professional certification, most participants will be able to complete the TESOL Certificate pathway in approximately 6 to 9 months, depending on practicum timing and TESL Canada processing. The program is designed to move efficiently from training to certification while allowing flexibility for students and working professionals.
