June 20 Update: Suspension of Masking Mandate After June 30

Further to the announcement that was issued by University of Waterloo President, Vivek Goel, and Vice President, Academic & Provost, James Rush, please be advised that Renison University College will also be suspending the mask mandate after June 30, 2022.

We encourage all faculty, staff and students to continue to exercise your personal preference after that date. For those faculty and staff who prefer to wear a mask indoors, Renison continues to maintain a supply of face coverings for those who need them. All employees are invited to order their face covering through the online order form.

Additionally, after June 30, physical distancing or capacity limits will no longer be required within Renison under current public health guidance.

Please be assured that Renison, along with our colleagues on main campus, will continue to monitor the public health and safety situation closely and will revisit this position if necessary.

If you feel that you have been exposed to COVID or are showing symptoms, please continue to follow public health requirements, take the Ontario self-assessment survey, and stay home if necessary.

May 1Proof of Vaccination Requirement

In light of the relaxation of public health restrictions as part of the Ontario government’s Roadmap to Reopen and on the basis of current local public health conditions, we have suspended our vaccination requirements for entry to campus, effective May 1.

As has been the case throughout the pandemic, the evolution of the virus and the course of disease activity are difficult to predict, so this decision is contingent on current public health conditions and directions continuing.

If the situation changes, it may become necessary to bring back requirements for proof of vaccination on short notice. For more information, please visit Waterloo's COVID-19 Information website for the latest updates.
