Renison University College

If you're looking for a small, close-knit residence or academic home base that is a five-minute walk to most buildings at the University of Waterloo, then Renison may be for you!

Renison is a smaller community with its own character and distinctive programs where you can get involved. For students pursuing a University of Waterloo degree, you can live and study at Renison while having access to all of the services and facilities on the main Waterloo campus. Think of it like a small, friendly neighbourhood, within a larger city - it's the best of both worlds!

Territorial Acknowledgement

With gratitude, we acknowledge that Renison University College is located on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Hodinohsyó:ni, and Attawandaran (Neutral) Peoples, which is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes ten kilometres on each side of the Grand River from mouth to source. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place in all corners of our campus through research, learning, teaching, community building and outreach. We are guided by the work of our Reconciliation and Re-storying Steering Committee and Anti-Racism and Decolonization Spokescouncil, as well as the University of Waterloo’s Office of Indigenous Relations.

Congratulations, class of 2024!

This week, we will celebrate with Renison grads who will walk across the stage and receive their degree during Spring Convocation. Congratulations to each of you!

We are so grateful and proud to have you as part of the Renison community of alumni – and we can’t wait to see what you do next!

We are also happy to announce our Spring 2023 Student and Faculty Award Winners, each of whom embodies the values of Renison in a special way.

On Wednesday evening, Renison celebrated Founders' Day in the Atrium. The event was well attended with over fifty donors, alumni, staff, faculty and community members in attendance. Founders’ Day celebrates the founding of Renison University College and recognizes members of the Renison community who have distinguished themselves by advancing the values of Renison in the broader community. Honors were presented to: John Neufeld (Honorary Senior Fellow); Aurra Startup (Young Alumni); Ajirioghene Evi (Distinguished Alumni); and Nauroz Tanya (Distinguished Alumni). The evening’s keynote speaker was John Neufeld, Renison alumni and Executive Director of the House of Friendship. Our student speaker was Wallis Zheng, Renison peer leader and resident. Over $3,000 was raised towards our Students First Appeal. Thank you again to everyone for your support and participation.
