We are looking for University of Waterloo students who have completed a minimum of their 1A academic term to volunteer with our Renison Meet & Greet events! We are hosting an in-person Meet and Greet for students in our iBASE students.

We are looking for volunteers who are willing to attend a 1-hour Meet & Greet event:
- In person at Renison: iBASE Upper-year Meet & Greet - Friday, July 31, 3:00pm - 4:00pm in the Renison Atrium
Who is the event for?
Renison University College is hosting the event for students studying in iBASE this summer. iBASE (Intensive Bridge to Academic Success in English) is a 7-week language program to help students build the academic and learning skills they need for success in their first year of studies at the University of Waterloo. They will begin their program at the University of Waterloo this September.
What am I expected to do?
We are looking for positive and enthusiastic University of Waterloo students in the Faculties of Engineering, Mathematics, Arts, Science, and Health to volunteer and talk about their experience at the University of Waterloo.
You will be asked to provide a small introduction about yourself: who are you, what are you studying at UWaterloo, why you chose your program, and what do you like about being a University of Waterloo student.
From there, you will welcome students to ask questions about your student experience. The type of things you may be asked about:
- Your program: what you are studying, what your program is like, why you chose your program
- Your courses: what classes are you taking, what are they like, and any advice for incoming first-year students to prepare for the program
- Advice for first-year: sharing tips for success at the University of Waterloo, letting them know about resources, websites, or supports you frequently use as a Waterloo student
The goal of our event is to help our students feel excited about the University of Waterloo and to feel more prepared for their studies in September. Additionally, another goal is that we hope our students will practice asking questions to someone using their language skills.
