Abstract:
The concepts of Path Dependency and Leverage Points were used to better understand the complex Cauvery River dispute. Pierson’s theories are used to examine and analyze the historical events of the system and potential feedback loops are identified and explained. Meadows’ leverage points about this conflict are described in brief, and the reasoning behind their applicability is also explained. The approach identifies the major positive feedback loops in the system and reveals a causal loop diagram.
