Welcome! My name is Dan Wolczuk. I am a continuing lecturer in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. In 2013, I was awarded Instructor of the Year but the UWaterloo Mathematics Student Society and the Distinction in Teaching award from the Mathematics Faculty. For the past several years I have been focused on researching how to help students become better learners and how to improve teaching in mathematics. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) in 2001. I am very fortunate to have done my undergraduate degree there as I had many opportunities that I probably would have not received elsewhere. I complete my master's degree here at the University of Waterloo in 2004 in analytic number theory under the supervison of Cameron Stewart. Unfortunately, I am so focused on student learning that I no longer have time to do mathematical research.

I now mainly teach linear algebra courses although I have a lot of previous experience teaching calculus and some experience teaching complex analysis. I have co-authored a linear algebra textbook Introduction to Linear Algebra for Science and Engineering for Pearson publishing. Additionally, I have authored the textbook for our honours math linear algebra courses and co-authored the textbook for our honours math Calculus 3. I plan to write a calculus textbook.
