I am pursuing Ph.D. in Power and Energy Systems at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), and working as a graduate researcher under the supervision of Dr. Ramadan El-Shatshat and Dr. Ayman El-Hag. My Ph.D. work primarily focuses on the development of a novel algorithm for kVA load estimation of a distribution transformer, without incorporating power factor assumption across all residential customers; accurate and real-time assessment of behind-the-meter solar generation; and including the above-mentioned conditions as constraints in the optimization problem for the demand side management of a power distribution network.

Prior to joining UW, I was studying toward a master's degree in Electrical Engineering at the American University of Sharjah (AUS), United Arab Emirates, and working as a graduate research assistant at Power Electronics and Motor Drives Laboratory with Dr. Shayok Mukhopadhyay and Dr. Habibur Rehman. We have developed an indirect field-oriented controlled electric vehicle drive setup powered by a 400 V, 6.6 Ah Li-ion battery bank. My Master's thesis focuses on the run-time adaptive estimation of open-circuit voltage and equivalent circuit model parameters of a Li-ion battery bank.

I have completed my B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan which is one of the best institutions in Pakistan. During my undergraduate studies, I worked on the design and implementation of a three-phase direct matrix converter.
