Johana Whitson is the Head of Metadata and Cataloguing services at the Dana Porter Library. She oversees the library catalogue, including the creation, maintenance, and deletion of records in the database. Johanna graduated from Wilfrid Laurier with a B.A. in Communications and Business (2007), and Western University with a Masters in Library and Information Science (2008). Prior to joining Waterloo University, Johanna worked to provide Cataloguing and metadata services to public libraries across Canada. Her areas of competency include metadata creation and manipulation, workflow mapping, and bridging the gap between user needs and deliverable data.
