Joel believes that evidence-based policy benefits Canadians and the world. As such, he is a regular participant in policy workshops and advises different levels of government on issues around innovation. His policy work has addressed how to foster innovation, the impact of intellectual property rights on innovation and welfare, technology and international trade, and the impact of AI and robotics on employment and inequality.
