Jason L. Deglint graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with Distinction from the University of Victoria in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. In 2016 Jason completed his Masters of Applied Science in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Currently Jason is a Ph.D. Candidate in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada and is currently being supervised by Dr. Alexander Wong and Dr. Chao Jin.  Jason's research interests include computational imaging and using machine learning and multispectral imaging for computational biology and water conservation.

During his undergraduate studies he worked at a variety of different companies as a co-op. First, from January to April 2011 and September to December 2011 he worked at Research In Motion (BlackBerry). Then from May to July 2012 he worked at National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Finally, from January to August 2013 he worked at MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA). During his M.A.Sc. he worked at Christie Digital Systems Inc. from September 2014 to April 2015. During his graduate studies he founded Hedgehog Medical Inc. (2016), which provides software to finds and track artery walls from ultrasound images and videos. 

Mr. Deglint's awards include the Co-op Student of the Year Award (2012) from the University of Victoria (UVic), the Talbot Memorial Fund Award (2013) and the Andreas Antoniou Medal for Digital Signal Processing (2015). He also received the Distinguished Paper Award from the Society of Information Display (SID) (2015) and the Best Paper Award for the Conference of Computer Vision and Imaging Systems (CVIS) (2015). Finally, he received the Sandford Fleming Foundation Teaching Assistant Award (2016) from the University of Waterloo as well as the AquaHacking Challenge First Place Prize (2017).
