Jacob is pursuing a PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Jacob holds a BASc in Nanotechnology Engineering and an MASc in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo. In his master’s, Jacob mapped infrastructure funding flows across government tiers, from revenue to expenditures on public infrastructure systems, finding best practices in infrastructure funding and assessing transparency and sustainability across different governance structures. In his current research, he is exploring how autonomous vehicles fit into the transportation network and how they impact the economy, with the goal of helping governments develop policies that keep up with the rapid development of autonomous vehicle technology.
