Jeff West is a structural engineer with a background in concrete structures and concrete material science. Research is primarily experimental, with interests including modular systems for steel-concrete composite bridges, concrete materials technology (fibre-reinforced concrete, use of recycled materials), the assessment, repair and rehabilitation of existing structures (concrete and wood), the use of fibre-reinforced polymers as reinforcement, tolerance theory for modular construction, and the use of laser scanning and other technologies for tolerance measurement and progress tracking in construction.
