Persisting algal bloom in lakes is a leading cause of impairment in the freshwater ecosystem. It is attributed to nutrient (phosphorus) enrichment in water bodies resulting from increased anthropogenic activity. In my Ph.D. research, I am interested in understanding the role of phosphorus in Lake eutrophication with large-scale data analysis and process-based nutrient modelling. My study involves aggregating decades of historical data from various sources to understand water quality (phosphorus) response to past human activity and present management changes.
