My research is focused on numerical modelling based on Compuational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) of non-reacting and reacting flows. I have focused in my Ph.D. on investigating partially premixed flames using Doubly Conditional Source-term Estimation (DCSE) using dimesionally-reduced and tabulated chemistry.
During my first 6-month post-doctoral fellowship, my focus was basiclly on LES investigation of a gas tubine swirl-stabilized Jet A-1 flames using Conditional Source-term Estimation (CSE) principle. I managed to create three dimensional table that describes the combustion of Jet A-1 with air that is adaptable to CSE. Also, I have created the appropriate grid for the complicated geometry of the gas turbine and successfully get good predictions for the non-reacting flow.
The second fellowship assignment is focused on investigating wood-crib fire in shipping container using fireFoam and a number of submodels and tools that are available in OpenFOAM 7.
