I am interested Natural Language Processing techniques in general such as Text Summarization, Information Extraction, and Sentiment Analysis. My early work was on text summarization. I have deveopled a multi-document summarizer using rhetorical information. The summarizer was tested on U.S. presidential speeches (link to the related paper). 

My current research is focused in building a framework for automated argumentation analysis in experimental procedure which involves the following:

- Ontolgoy-based knowledge representation for experimental procedures

- lexical semantics for procdural verbs in biomedical genre

- Creation of annotated corpus for experimental procedures

- Building the overall framework for argumenation analysis
