Dr Jane Gao obtained her PhD degree at University of Waterloo in 2010. She worked as a Humboldt research fellow at Max Planck Institute for Informatics in Saarbruecken in 2010 and 2011. She was an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow in University of Toronto in 2012 and 2013. In 2014 she became a Research Assistant Professor in the department of Combinatorics and Optimization in University of Waterloo. Then she worked as a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) from 2015 to 2018 in Monash University in Melbourne. Starting from 2019, she returned to the department of Combinatorics and Optimization in University of Waterloo as an Assistant Professor. She specialises in random graph theory, random structures and randomised algorithms.
