Ramadan El-Shatshat received a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Garyounis, Benghazi, Libya, in 1984 and 1992, respectively, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2001. He is a continuing lecturer and the director of the electric power engineering program in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo. El-Shatshat is a registered professional engineer in the Province of Ontario, Canada.
