Dr. Zhao, our group's principal investigator, recently published his viewpoint as an eLetter in Science titled “The Need for Metaethical Reflections in AI Discourse” (December 23, 2024). Dr. Zhao’s letter highlights the importance of interrogating the different metaethical assumptions that underpin public and academic discourse on AI - one of which is the anthropomorphizing of artificial intelligence systems - and calls for a more metaethically coherent, responsible approach to AI development, deployment, and governance. This publication reflects our group's ongoing efforts to engage with interdisciplinary challenges and address societal issues at the intersection of technology, organization, and ethics.
