Dr. Zobeir Raisi received the BSc and MSC degrees in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Sistan & Baluchestan University, Zahedan, Iran, in Sep. 2009 and Jan. 2012, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada, in Jun 2022. During his MSc and Ph.D. programs, he did part of his research in text detection and recognition in wild images, object detection and segmentation, and Image Retrieval.

Dr. Raisi is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Systems Design Engineering Department, University of Waterloo, and Vision and Image Processing Lab, Waterloo, Canada. He did part of his research in several joint academic-industrial collaborative projects in Computer Vision, Image Processing, and Machine Learning that involved many partners, such as the University of Waterloo, Apple Inc., Baltimore Oriloles Inc., and ATS Automation Inc. His research interests include signal, image and video processing, computer vision, machine learning, and pattern recognition.
