What Courses Will I Be Taking in the BSW Part-time Program?

The part-time program is designed for applicants with completed Bachelor of Arts (or equivalent) degrees who are already working in social service roles but wish to enhance their education while maintaining their employment. As with the full-time program, the same prerequisites and admission requirements must be met. See: admissions.

Students in the part-time program may enter the BSW level courses in January. It is also important to note that BSW students may ONLY be enrolled in SWREN courses throughout the BSW program.

Part-time students can complete the BSW program within 2 years. At least one course is offered in each semester. Effective winter 2024, the part-time BSW will be moving to a blended learning environment. Blended learning courses are primarily online but will have one or two in-person elements each semester. For more information, please contact renison.bswadmissions@uwaterloo.ca
