IPODE Student Expression of Interest
The MSW Program offers SWK 650R, SWK 651R and SWK 652R as graduate level electives through the Interprofessional Psychosocial Oncology Distance Education (IPODE) project supported by university partners including Renison University College. IPODE courses are guided by an interprofessional expert panel of Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology (CAPO) members that involve psychosocial oncology clinicians, researchers and educators.
IPODE courses combine independent learning activities with REAL TIME, weekly seminars for small, interprofessional groups of learners. Real time/synchronous class schedule will vary from term to term. Students need to confirm that they are available for real time learning. The School of Social Work and University of Waterloo’s policies and procedures remain applicable while taking part in the IPODE course.
Students who wish to register in IPODE courses must get permission from the School of Social Work. Students will be notified if permitted to register in IPODE. Dr. Susan Cadell is the School’s faculty representative/IPODE Instructor.
Once you are confirmed to take the course, you will be given a permission number to enrol into the course on QUEST, as Open Enrolment starts for that term.

Reminder: You must complete TWO elective courses during the MSW program - only ONE of which may be an IPODE course.

- Full-time students will complete TWO electives during their 1-year program. Only ONE of these two electives may be an IPODE course.
- Part-time students will complete TWO electives during their 2-year program and may enroll in one elective per year. Only ONE of these two electives may be an IPODE course.
