Congratulations to Sydney Waring for being awarded the Student Poster Award at the 2019 annual meeting of the Society for Interpersonal Theory and Research!

Congratulations to Dr. Allison Kelly, who was presented with the award for Outstanding Scientific Contribution for the paper entitled  "A feasibility study of a 2-week self-compassionate letter-writing intervention for nontreatment seeking individuals with typical and atypical anorexia nervosa" at the 2019 International Conference on Eating Disorders. 

The Self-Attitudes Lab published an article in the peer-reviewed journal Body Image showing that body image is impacted by those around you, this research is featured in Waterloo News.

Hannah Lightfoot, an honours thesis student in the Self-Attitudes lab, is featured in the University of Waterloo's Arts Undergraduate Stories. 

Congratulations to Ph.D. student Sydney Waring who was awarded a Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Doctoral Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. 

The Self-Attitudes Lab published an article in the peer-reviewed journal Body Image that received media attention, including a feature in Elle Canada.

PhD student Kiruthiha Vimalakanthan is attending the annual International Conference on Eating Disorders in Chicago this week, where she is presenting her work on the impact of cultivating a caregiving, compassionate orientation towards the target of an unfavourable appearance comparison. 

Congratulations to Ph.D. student Jessica Dupasquier who was awarded a Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Doctoral Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

Congratulations to Master’s student Sydney Waring who was awarded the Frederick Banting & Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
